Chen Chen, PhD serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BrioHealth Solutions. Dr. Chen has dedicated over 25 years to innovation and entrepreneurship within the field of ventricular assist devices (VADs). His pursuit of breakthrough technology started with academic research on how magnetic levitation could be applied to VAD technology. Dr. Chen leveraged his research to develop the World Heart Levacor VAD, among the first VADs to demonstrate the utility of magnetic levitation. In 2008, Dr. Chen established CH Biomedical, Inc., with a focus on utilizing a novel approach to magnetic levitation, deployed in a small pump format. This technological breakthrough has led to the commercialization of CH-VAD in China and is the foundation of the BrioVAD LVAS system. Along with his role at BrioHealth Solutions, Dr. Chen serves as CEO of CH Biomedical Inc. Dr. Chen received a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, specializing in blood flow mechanics, at Sichuan University in 1991.
